Green Umbrella Recruitment seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead wind turbine generator erection activities in Muscat, Oman. You will supervise erection, lifting, and installation while coordinating with subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams on safety, quality, and schedule.
The role requires 8–10 years in industrial construction with wind project experience, a degree in mechanical engineering, and English proficiency (B2/C1).
Act as technical authority for WTG erection activities. Supervise unloading, storage, preservation, assembly and installation of turbine components. Coordinate crane operations and heavy lifts for tower sections, nacelles, hubs and blades. Ensure compliance with OEM procedures, quality requirements and HSE standards. Manage subcontractors and interfaces with civil, electrical and commissioning teams. Support mechanical completion, punch-list clearance and handover.
Candidates with hands-on experience in Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, GE Vernova, Nordex, Enercon, Goldwind or Sany technologies shall be prioritized.
WTG erection methodology; tower installation; nacelle installation; blade mounting; bolt tensioning; hydraulic torque equipment; alignment and leveling; lifting studies; heavy crane operations; turbine preservation; mechanical inspections; quality dossiers; turbine commissioning support; punch-list management; defect identification and rectification; work packaging and construction sequencing.
Management of subcontractors, daily progress monitoring, look-ahead planning, resource allocation, productivity tracking, interface management, schedule recovery actions, risk management and reporting to project management teams.
Strong leadership in lifting operations, work at height, rescue plans, permit to work systems, lock-out tag-out procedures, risk assessments, toolbox talks and zero-harm safety culture. Candidate must demonstrate a proactive safety leadership record.
Experience in international utility-scale wind projects is preferred. Middle East, Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Africa wind farm experience will be considered advantageous.

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
English proficiency B2/C1. Ability to work in remote locations and rotational assignments.
Wind industry certifications and GWO training are highly desirable.
Minimum 8-10 years in industrial construction.
Minimum 8 years dedicated to wind turbine erection projects.
Proven experience on wind farms above 300 MW. Demonstrated involvement from construction through commissioning and COD.
Experience with international EPC contractors and OEM turbine suppliers.
