Job summary

OQ8 is seeking a senior engineer to lead RBI and corrosion integrity initiatives across refinery units. You will shape corrosion control documents, oversee monitoring programs, and guide technical actions during turnarounds with a focus on reducing risk and ensuring compliance with API, ASME, and NACE standards.

You will mentor junior engineers, integrate advanced NDE and predictive analytics, and coordinate with operations and process teams to maintain safe, reliable plant performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and relevant discipline as listed.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in metallurgy, chemical or refinery settings.
• Strong understanding of RBI, corrosion mechanisms and integrity management.
• Experience with inspection planning, data analysis and risk ranking.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive corrosion assessments across refinery units (crude, vacuum, hydro processing, utilities).
• Maintain and update CCDs, corrosion loops, materials guidelines.
• Identify damage mechanisms per API RP 571 and advise mitigation.
• Oversee corrosion monitoring programs and root cause investigations.
• Provide guidance on chemical treatment and inhibitor optimization.
• Lead RBI studies and validate PoF and CoF models.
• Support IOW definition, inspections planning, and turnaround risk scoping.
