Job summary

Worley is seeking a Principal Materials / Corrosion Engineer for the Muscat office to lead materials selection and corrosion control across Oil & Gas projects. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, and safety practices while optimizing asset integrity and lifecycle value.

This role requires extensive international experience, strong communication with stakeholders, and a track record in complex multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
• Professional membership with an international engineering institution.
• Minimum 20 years of Oil & Gas experience.
• Minimum 15 years in engineering design (Concept to Operations).
• Extensive experience in materials engineering and corrosion control.
• Strong knowledge of material selection, coatings, cathodic protection, and inspection tech.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams within complex projects.
• Experience in Middle East Oil & Gas projects preferred.
• Demonstrated HSSE leadership and quality management commitment.

Responsibilities

• Lead selection, evaluation and specification of materials for corrosive, high-temp and high-pressure environments.
• Develop and implement corrosion mitigation programs including coatings and CP systems.
• Provide technical leadership on materials engineering and asset integrity across project phases.
• Ensure designs, specs and deliverables meet project requirements and regulatory standards.
• Mentor and develop engineering teams to achieve technical excellence.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment and integration.
