Job summary

Aramco is seeking a Power Service Technician to join our Power Operations Department. You will perform installations, diagnostics and repairs on electrical systems, including high and medium voltage equipment, transformers and switchgear, with responsibility for testing, preventive maintenance and fault diagnosis across substations and power plants.

The role requires extensive experience in power systems, strong English communication and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma/industrial degree in electrical field.
• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in power system construction, commissioning, maintenance and operation with emphasis on transmission and distribution.
• Certified for Basic Life Support/FA, Fire Protection, Work Permit Receiver, cable splicing & potential test.
• Fluent command of the English language, oral and written.
• Has thorough knowledge of equipment and underground cable safety requirements including U.S. & Saudi Electrical Codes.
• Ability to read work orders, work permits, vendors’ manuals, and schematic diagrams and to communicate with fellow workers on technical aspects of the job.
• Good knowledge of Safety Management System

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, installation, commissioning, testing, repairs and troubleshooting on equipment including 480 voltages through 230 kilo volts switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, disconnect switches, reclosers, cooling fans, and substation systems.
• Use testing equipment like transformer turns ratio, insulation resistance, and dielectric testers. Install and maintain high voltage cables and perform splicing, terminations, and testing.
• Repairs electrical and mechanical components of oil circuit breakers, including compressors, pumps, springs, and linkages.
• Performs commissioning tests on new equipment, approves final acceptance by Power Distribution Department and lists exception items.
• Performs high-skilled diagnostic tasks as required.
• Diagnose and locate equipment, system, and cable faults through tests and analysis, determine necessary repairs and parts. Install, repairs, and maintains specialized power distribution equipment.
• Oversees cable excavation, de-energization and safety grounding, and oversees cable laying for high and medium voltage cables.
• Coordinates and schedules power outages with affected organizations for routine maintenance or repairs.
• Acquires clearances, performs switching, receives work permits, and restores equipment to service; coordinates timely execution.
