Job summary

HUDSON is seeking a Senior Engineer for Overhead Transmission Lines in Oman. The candidate will lead detailed design up to 400 kV, perform sag-tension calculations, and develop plans using PLS CADD or Sag-Ten. Strong English communication and a background in ISO 9001 QA are essential.

The role requires over 10 years of OHL design experience in a consultancy or large EPC environment, with emphasis on front end and detailed design and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng.) required.
• Experience >10 years in Overhead Transmission Lines detailed design.
• Experience in ISO 9001 QA environments.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, ISO, and BS design standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed design of Overhead Transmission Lines up to 400 kV.
• Perform sag-tension calculations and plan/profile drawings using PLS CADD or Sag-Ten; prepare purchase specs and data sheets.
• Review pole and tower drawings, conductor sizing, insulator and hardware drawings; interface with civil design for foundations.
• Manage interfaces with other disciplines and promote safe work practices.
• Identify potential applications for new technologies and contribute to safe workplace environment.
• Provide and promote effective communications between colleagues and senior staff.
• Extensive experience in front end and detailed design for power and O&G.
