Job summary

Galfar Engg. & Contracting SAOG in Oman is seeking a Laboratory/Field Testing Technician to support infrastructure projects. The role involves collecting samples, conducting in-house laboratory tests and field tests at sites such as Ruwi in Muscat.

You will ensure proper upkeep of all lab and field testing equipment, maintain records, and follow Codes and standards. Collaboration with the Material Engineer/Inspector is essential to address non-conformances and resolve technical issues at site or

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required.
• 5-7 years of material testing experience on infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the sample collection, in-house laboratory and field tests carried out in the project.
• Responsible for the proper upkeep of all laboratory and field test equipment used for testing in the project.
• Responsible for the preparation, maintenance and retention of lab/field test records.
• Follow standard testing procedures as specified in relevant codes and standards.
• Inform the Material Engineer / Inspector regarding any non-conformances observed during testing.
• Co-ordinate with material engineer for any technical issues to be sorted at site or in Lab.
