Job summary

Oman Refinery is seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to design, analyze, implement, and maintain control systems across the site. The role focuses on ensuring the availability of ESD, DCS, and PLC-based loops, while leading troubleshooting and maintaining control system assets in support of new automation projects and process safety initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics or instrumentation engineering or similar.
8+ years of relevant experience in control systems maintenance in refinery/petrochemical environments.
Knowledge of refinery processes and plant equipment; experience with safety systems.

Responsibilities

Manage and ensure availability of ESD, DCS, and PLC-based control loops; promote process safety initiatives.
Develop solutions to maintenance and quality problems of control systems in Suhar plants (SR2).
Support on new automation projects.
Interact with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, Environmental personnel and contractors in designated areas.
Provide professional technical guidance and support to the team.
Identify improvement opportunities and assess proposals; guide young engineers in control system matters.
Ensure assets and equipment are available, minimize downtime, and support gross margin profitability.
