Job summary
The Instrumentation & Control Commissioning Engineer will supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning of instrumentation, automation, SCADA and plant-control systems for a utility-scale solar PV plant in Sohar, Oman.
You will coordinate with EPC contractors and vendors, ensure test plans, punch-lists and handover deliverables are completed on time, and maintain strict adherence to HSE and grid-code requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical, Electronics, Automation Engineering or related discipline.
- 10+ years in instrumentation, control and commissioning.
- Experience commissioning utility-scale solar PV plants.
- Hands-on with SCADA, PPC, inverter controls, RTUs, PLCs, metering and plant networks.
- Grid integration, energization and grid-code testing experience.
- Knowledge of Modbus TCP/IP, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104 and OPC.
- Mandatory experience in power generation, renewables, substations or grid projects.
Responsibilities
- Supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning of instrumentation, control, automation and communications.
- Lead commissioning for SCADA, PPC, inverters, RTUs, PLCs and metering.
- Review procedures, test plans, ITPs and system completion dossiers.
- Perform loop checks, signal simulation and functional testing.
- Coordinate integration of SCADA, PPC, inverter and grid-control systems.
- Support energization, synchronization, testing and final acceptance.
