Job summary

Thehseleader in Oman is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to support maritime construction and offshore supervision, implementing and enforcing health, safety and environmental requirements across marine operations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in HSE or environmental engineering, 13+ years of maritime experience, NEBOSH/IOSH/CSP, strong risk assessment and incident investigation skills, and excellent English; Arabic is a plus. Offshore deployment and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 13 years of HSE experience in maritime, offshore, or marine construction.
• Professional HSE certification (NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP or equivalent).
• Strong experience in risk assessment, incident investigation and auditing.
• Excellent English communication and training skills; Arabic is an advantage.
• Ability to work on offshore sites and travel as required, with medical clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement project HSE plans, procedures and controls.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments and safety observations.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and follow corrective actions through to closure.
• Monitor permits, high-risk marine and offshore work, emergency readiness and environmental compliance.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and training.
• Prepare HSE performance reports and work with contractors and project stakeholders to improve safety performance.
