Job summary

NTG is seeking a Senior Data Architect to work on-site in Muscat. In this role, you will be responsible for owning the enterprise data architecture and ensuring the data backbone of the platform is robust and efficient. You will design data models and isolation strategies while ensuring compliance with data governance principles.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building data systems, a deep understanding of various data models, and proficiency in SQL. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, and knowledge of cloud platforms is a plus.

RQMNA designs and operates the sovereign data platforms behind modern government and enterprise services, the systems whole populations rely on daily.

We are hiring a Senior Data Architect, on site in Muscat, to own the data backbone the entire platform depends on.

What you'll do

Own the data end to end, from how it's modeled to how AI consumes it.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise data architecture: conceptual, logical, and physical data models across the platform
• Design multitenant data isolation, data residency, and classification aligned to data protection law and regulatory frameworks
• Architect the polyglot persistence strategy across relational, graph, vector, document, time series, geospatial, and object stores
• Design the analytics and lakehouse layer that feeds business intelligence and AI workloads
• Define streaming and batch data movement: change data capture, event streaming, and ETL and ELT
• Operationalize data governance: cataloging, lineage, quality, master data, retention, and automated right to erasure
• Define data security controls with security leadership, including encryption, masking, and activity monitoring
• Author data standards and reference patterns, and mentor data engineers across teams

• You have built scalable, high integrity data systems, and the architecture held when it mattered
• You model across paradigms without blinking: relational, dimensional, Data Vault, graph, and document
• You command SQL, performance tuning, partitioning, replication, and high availability
• You go deep on governance, lineage, classification, quality, master data, and retention, and you turn regulation into design that actually enforces it
• You are fluent across ETL and ELT, change data capture, event streaming, and lakehouse architectures
• You have isolated tenants at scale and understand the vector and RAG layers behind AI
• You hold a Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; TOGAF or data platform certifications are a plus
• Sovereign or on premises experience is valued; public cloud only backgrounds transfer less directly
• Bonus points for government or large enterprise data estates
• Fluent English required; Arabic is a valuable advantage
