Job summary

GGGI is seeking a Communications Officer for the Oman ARISE Program, based in Salalah. You will lead communications planning, stakeholder engagement, and territorial marketing to raise local visibility and investment opportunities.

You will manage media relations, produce bilingual assets (Arabic/English), coordinate campaigns, and collaborate with regional and HQ teams to ensure brand alignment and impactful storytelling in Dhofar Governorate.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, International Development or related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, campaign management or marketing.
• Demonstrated experience in territorial marketing or regional economic development communications.
• Experience working with government officials, rural stakeholders, or community leaders.
• Exceptional analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
• Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual ARISE Communications and Territorial Marketing Plans aligned with workplan phases and donor reporting.
• Lead territorial marketing to promote Dhofar as a destination for sustainable investment and ecotourism.
• Produce bilingual newsletters, briefs, and reports; manage media relations and talking points.
• Plan community awareness campaigns and coordinate community workshops and media briefings.
• Collaborate with regional teams to ensure branding consistency and messaging.
• Track communications indicators and maintain a content repository.
• Engage with government and partners to align communications with policy and public messaging.
