Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Muscat is seeking a Pastry Cook - Seasonal to join the Culinary team. You will assist the Pastry section, prepare mise en place for pastries and desserts, and ensure high quality plating and presentation.

You will uphold strict hygiene and food safety standards, manage stock and storage, and collaborate with the team across outlets and events as needed. MOHG standards guide every duty and commitment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie in daily duties within the Pastry section.
• Prepare ingredients and mise en place for pastries, desserts, cakes, breads.
• Ensure pastry mise en place meets the highest quality standards.
• Produce pastry items according to approved recipes and portions.
• Follow plating and presentation guidelines for each dish.
• Organize requisitions and store items properly for service.
• Check daily ingredient stock before shifts to ensure supply.
• Label and store ingredients and pastries correctly.
• Keep pastry surfaces and equipment clean and sanitized per food safety standards.
• Maintain high personal hygiene at all times.
• Support cleanliness and upkeep of the Pastry kitchen and stewarding areas.
• Comply with Safe & Sound food safety standards and local regulations.
• Deliver MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences in every task.
• Collaborate with the team and assist other outlets or events when required.
• Attend required trainings and perform other duties as requested by the Chef de Partie.
