Job summary

SMC International Placement is seeking a QC Instrumentation Inspector for Saudi Arabia to conduct QC inspections of instrumentation installation, wiring, and calibration in line with approved drawings, project specs and ITPs.

You will review P&IDs, instrument index, loop diagrams, and calibration certificates; coordinate with instrumentation engineers, commissioning teams, contractors and client inspectors; and prepare ITRs and quality documentation to ensure project quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Experience in QA/QC for instrumentation projects.
• Knowledge of field instrument installation and calibration.
• Familiarity with ITPs, NCRs, and quality documentation.
• Ability to read P&IDs, loop diagrams, and instrument indices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect instrumentation installation activities against drawings, specs and quality standards.
• Verify calibration certificates and instrument calibration records.
• Witness loop checking, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with instrumentation engineers, commissioning teams, contractors and client inspectors.

QC INSTRUMENTATION QC INSPECTOR

Roles & Responsibilities

• Inspect instrumentation installation activities in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, and quality standards.
• Inspect installation of field instruments, transmitters, control valves, gauges, and instrument accessories.
• Verify instrument mounting, tubing, impulse lines, manifolds, and instrument supports.
• Inspect instrument cable laying, glanding, termination, and cable tray installations.
• Verify calibration certificates and instrument calibration records.
• Witness loop checking, continuity testing, and functional testing of instruments.
• Inspect instrument junction boxes, marshalling cabinets, and control panels.
• Review P&IDs, instrument index, hook-up drawings, and loop diagrams.
• Ensure compliance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and method statements.
• Identify non-conformities and coordinate corrective actions.
• Prepare inspection reports, Inspection Test Records (ITRs), and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with instrumentation engineers, commissioning teams, contractors, and client inspectors.
