Job summary

SMC International Placement is seeking a QC Coating Inspector in Saudi Arabia to ensure coating works meet project specs and standards. You will inspect surface prep, blasting, coating application, and film thickness, and generate inspection reports and ITRs for client review.

The ideal candidate has Diploma or Degree in engineering with coatings inspection certifications advantageous, and will coordinate with QC teams, contractors, and clients while upholding HSE requirements on site.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Coating inspection certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect surface prep, abrasive blasting, and coating application activities.
• Ensure coating works comply with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Inspect surface cleanliness, surface profile, and environmental conditions before coating application.
• Measure Wet Film Thickness (WFT) and Dry Film Thickness (DFT).
• Monitor coating mixing, application, curing, and re-coating intervals.
• Conduct visual inspections and identify coating defects such as pinholes, runs, sags, and peeling.
• Perform holiday testing and adhesion testing where specified.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, expiry dates, and manufacturer data sheets.
• Review coating procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and method statements.
• Prepare inspection reports, quality records, and coating inspection documentation.
• Raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
• Coordinate with QC supervisors, contractors, and client inspectors.
• Ensure compliance with site HSE requirements during blasting and coating activities.
