Job summary

Wood is recruiting a Lead QAQC Engineer to be seconded to the client office in Musandam, Oman, for a long-term assignment. The role requires extensive QA/QC expertise in the oil and petrochemical sector.

The successful candidate will oversee multidisciplinary QC activities, ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, and coordinate with EPC teams on oil and gas projects. This is a long-term opportunity with Wood, a global engineering leader committed to safe and reliable project

Qualifications

• University Degree in Mechanical / Chemical or equivalent Engineering Discipline.
• Certified Lead Auditor to ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001.
• Discipline specific certifications required (e.g. Welding, NDT, Coating etc.).
• Minimum Experience: 15 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control in Oil and Petrochemical Industry.
• Experience in EPC Phases of Engineering Projects in Oil and Gas Industry.
• Inspection and testing experience at manufacturing units and Construction sites.
• Multidiscipline Quality Control experience preferred.
• Experience with owner side such as Major Operating Companies, Multinational Project Management Companies preferred.
• Experience in API 650 Storage Tanks, Process Piping, Onshore Pipeline, Pumps, Package Equipment.
• Experience in SBM, PLEM, Subsea pipeline, Fiber Optic Cable required for Offshore position.
• Strong knowledge in the application of industry codes and standards.

Education

Desired Candidate Profile

• University Degree in Mechanical / Chemical or equivalent Engineering Discipline
• Certified Lead Auditor to any of the Management Systems ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001.
• Discipline specific certifications required (e.g. Welding, NDT, Coating etc.)
• Minimum Experience: Shall have Minimum of 15 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control in Oil and Petrochemical Industry.
• Shall be experienced in Engineering, Procurement and Construction Phases of Engineering Projects in Oil and Gas Industry.
• Inspection and testing experience at manufacturing units and Construction sites required.
• Multidiscipline Quality Control experience is preferred.
• Experience with owner side such as Major Operating Companies, Multinational Project Management Companies preferred.
