Job summary

Specialized Import and Trading LLC - Oman, muscat seeks an experienced PCC (Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning) System Supervisor – Cybersecurity to oversee cybersecurity activities during pre-commissioning and commissioning of a large LNG facility. The role focuses on field execution, system readiness, compliance, and secure integration of OT/ICS systems prior to startup and handover to operations.

This is a site-based supervisory role for professionals with hands-on experience supporting OT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in cybersecurity, IT, automation, instrumentation, or related discipline.
• 8–10 years experience in oil & gas or LNG projects.
• Hands-on commissioning exposure for control systems and industrial networks.
• Site-based experience on large EPC projects.
• Candidates without site commissioning exposure in OT cybersecurity environments will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervise cybersecurity activities during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
• Support system readiness for secure commissioning of DCS, ESD, F&G, PLC, and SCADA systems.
• Ensure cybersecurity requirements meet project standards and OT/ICS procedures.
• Coordinate with automation, instrumentation, IT/OT, and commissioning teams.
• Supervise field implementation of network segmentation, access control, and system hardening.
• Support cybersecurity testing activities, including vulnerability checks and secure communications verification.
• Verify mechanical completion and readiness for commissioning from a cybersecurity perspective.
• Report readiness, issues and risks to PCC system lead/commissioning manager.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced PCC (Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning) System Supervisor – Cybersecurity to supervise and coordinate cybersecurity related activities during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases of a large LNG facility. The role focuses on field execution, system readiness, compliance, and safe integration of OT/ICS systems prior to startup and handover to operations.

This is a site-based supervisory role, suited to professionals with hands‑on experience supporting OT cybersecurity implementation during EPC commissioning projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate cybersecurity activities during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases
• Support system readiness for secure commissioning of:
  • DCS, ESD, F&G, PLC, and SCADA systems
  • Network infrastructure, servers, workstations, and interfaces
• Ensure cybersecurity requirements are implemented in line with:
  • Project cybersecurity standards
  • OT/ICS security procedures
  • Regulatory and company policies
• Coordinate with automation, instrumentation, IT/OT, and commissioning teams to ensure secure system integration
• Supervise field implementation of:
  • Network segmentation and access control
  • User account and privilege configuration
  • Antivirus, patching, and system hardening activities
• Support cybersecurity testing activities, including:
  • Vulnerability checks (as defined by project scope)
  • Secure communication and access verification
• Verify mechanical completion (MC) and readiness for commissioning from a cybersecurity perspective
• Support punch list identification and closeout related to cybersecurity scope
• Ensure all activities are executed in compliance with HSE, PTW (permit to work), and SIMOPS (simultaneous operations) requirements
• Report cybersecurity readiness, issues, and risks to the PCC system lead / commissioning manager

Mandatory Requirements (Strict)

Education

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in cybersecurity, information technology, automation, instrumentation, electrical engineering, or related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 8–10 years experience in oil & gas or LNG projects
• Proven experience supporting OT/ICS cybersecurity during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases
• Site-based experience on large EPC projects
• Hands‑on exposure to commissioning of control systems and industrial networks
• Candidates without site commissioning exposure in OT cybersecurity environments will not be considered

Technical Expertise

• Practical knowledge of:
  • OT/ICS cybersecurity principles
  • Industrial networks (firewalls, switches, VLANs)
  • Secure commissioning of DCS, ESD, F&G, PLC systems
• Familiarity with:
  • Network segmentation and access control
  • System hardening and patching practices
  • Cybersecurity compliance checks during commissioning
• Ability to work from commissioning procedures, system dossiers, and test documentation

Supervisory & Professional Skills

• Strong site coordination and supervision capability
• Good interface management with automation, instrumentation, IT/OT, and operations teams
• Safety driven mindset with PTW and SIMOPS experience
• Comfortable working in high pressure, multicultural site environments
