Job summary

PayTech Nexus Ltd in Muscat, Oman, seeks a Payment System Tester—Compliance Mandate to join the Cards Product Agile Squad. You will work in bank’s agile environment, focusing on end-to-end user testing for payment systems across cards issuing and acquiring, including POS, QR, payment gateway, and related settlement processes.

Candidates should have 6–8 years in banking, strong test-case writing, and familiarity with Visa/MasterCard certification processes and simulators.

Qualifications

• Min 6-8 years of experience in banks with exposure to payment systems testing (cards).
• Experience writing and executing test cases in card issuing/acquiring contexts.
• Understanding of certification processes with Visa/MasterCard and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare UAT test cases and execute user testing in agile sprint cycles.
• Coordinate and document test results, report defects, and track resolutions.
• Engage with Visa, MasterCard and OEM vendors to understand and manage certification scope end-to-end.

Job description

Job Title: Payment System Tester- Compliance Mandate

Term: 6-12 months

Location: Muscat, Oman

Reporting to: Product Owner/ Agile Team

Department: Cards Product Agile Squad

Job Brief:

Understanding of the banking and financial domain is an essential requirement for this role. Be part of bank's agile squad team mainly responsible for user testing for payment systems specifically cards issuing and acquiring domain that includes but not limited to Point of Sale, QR, Payment Gateway, Credit, Debit, Prepaid, Corporate cards and other related payment systems. The job demands understanding of issuing and acquiring business requirement, clients Compliance mandate via client bulletin and detail client documentation, writing test cases, execution and report issues from end user (customer/Ops) perspective. It is desirable to have working knowledge on products such as TSYS PRIME and ACI Postilion.

Responsibilities:

The Compliance tester will be part of Cards Agile Squad and will be responsible for business user testing such as test cases preparation, execution, reporting bug, capturing all results

1. Be part of agile team to perform business user testing.
2. Knowledge of card issuing processes including debit, credit and prepaid. Debit cards experience will be a must for the resource.
3. Knowledge of card acquiring processes.
4. Understand user stories and write test cases meeting sprint's definition of done
5. Must be able to use Simulators from Visa & MasterCard.
6. Knowledge of card issuing processes including transaction authorization and clearing lifecycle testing.
7. Knowledge on card processes including but not limited to issuance, embossing files, maintenance, renewals, replacements, settlements, transactions management and handling reports.
8. Understand the certification process with Visa/MasterCard.
9. Understands the Visa/MasterCard certification process including tools like UL, VTS and etc.
10. Coordinate with Visa, MasterCard & OEM vendors (apple pay or Samsung wallet) to understand the scope of the certification and manage the certification end to end.
11. Perform the testing execution and manage it end to end.

Principal Accountabilities:

As a business user tester, I have to deal with all the activities associated with the sprints.

1. Part of bank's agile team
2. Prepare UAT test cases
3. User acceptance testing execution
4. Document all test results using bank muscat testing tool
5. Manual testing execution
6. Willing to learn and work on bank proposed automation testing tools.
7. Perform certifications with Visa & MasterCard with sound background on Visa/MasterCard simulators.

Skills and Abilities:

• Min 6-8 years of experience in banks with exposure to Payment systems applications specifically for the testing of cards (debit/credit).

• Software development lifecycle and should follow standard development process such as creating/executing unit test cases etc.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, proven skills in effectively dealing with the users and other stakeholders.

Education:

• A university degree in any discipline with IT knowledge

Other preferences:

• Experience in banking environment in Middle East is preferred.
