  • Experience leading large-scale marine projects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of project costing, contract management and financial management.

Job Title: Divisional Manager Marine & Marine Engineering

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Divisional Manager Marine & Marine Engineering to oversee the operational, financial and strategic performance of a marine engineering division.The candidate will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams, managing large-scale marine and EPC projects, driving profitability, supporting business development and ensuring compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

P&L & Commercial Management

  • Manage divisional budgets, revenue targets, profitability and cost control.
  • Monitor project pricing, cash flow and financial performance.
  • Optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in tendering, bidding, project costing and commercial negotiations.

Project & Operations Management

  • Lead project managers, engineers and technical teams.
  • Oversee complete project lifecycle from planning and procurement through execution and handover.
  • Monitor manpower, equipment and subcontractor performance.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Marine & EPC Business Development

  • Identify new opportunities in ship repair, dredging, reclamation, marine construction and infrastructure.
  • Support strategic planning and expansion initiatives.
  • Identify new technologies and market opportunities in marine engineering.

Governance, HSE & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements and marine regulations.
  • Oversee implementation of HSE and Quality Management Systems.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance.
  • Ensure effective subcontractor and project governance.

Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with Finance, HR, Procurement and other internal departments.
  • Manage relationships with clients, consultants, classification societies and government agencies.
  • Represent the division in client meetings, project reviews and management discussions.
  • Prepare management reports covering operational, financial and project performance.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Marine Engineering; Masters Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Marine Engineering, Ship Repair, Dredging or Marine EPC.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale marine projects.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
  • Strong understanding of project costing, contract management and financial management.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of Omani/GCC marine project standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
