Bupa Arabia seeks a senior Quality and Patient Safety leader to manage and drive quality improvement, clinical risk, and accreditation initiatives across the Medical Division. You will design and monitor programs, collaborate with physicians and staff, and promote a culture of safety and governance.

Responsibilities include leading audits, reporting to committees, and ensuring compliance with international standards like JCIA and national regulators.

Qualifications

  • Minimum six years in management roles focusing on quality, risk and patient safety in healthcare.
  • Experience coordinating accreditation programs (e.g., JCIA, CBAHI) and governance activities.
  • Strong data analytics, performance measurement and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and monitor quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical risk programs.
  • Identify and mitigate clinical and non-clinical risks across services.
  • Lead audits, gap analyses, and corrective action plans for accreditation readiness.
  • Coordinate safety culture initiatives and risk assessments (RCA, FMEA).
  • Prepare dashboards and reports for committees and regulatory bodies.

Job description

Responsible for managing, coordinating and implementing quality, patient safety, clinical risk, Accreditations and Clinical Review initiatives designed by Medical Division of Bupa CareConnect to continuously improve all aspects of health care delivery. This includes communication and monitoring of initiatives as well as promoting culture changes that support an environment of quality. Work closely and collaboratively with various functional areas of the delivery system and to achieve the goals and objectives of the Institution according to Vision, Mission and strategy.

Patient Safety and clinical risk:
  • Design, implement, and continuously monitor quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical risk management programs in alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate clinical and non‑clinical risks to patients, caregivers, and staff across all healthcare services.
  • Promote evidence‑based practices to reduce adverse events, medical errors, and preventable harm.
  • Support leadership in developing patient safety strategies and performance improvement plans.
  • To fulfill BCC Medical Quality scope of service and ensuring quality and safe services provided
Quality Management System(QMS):
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to implement and sustain clinical quality indicators and performance metrics as defined by the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Management System, policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
  • Participate in the review, update, and integration of QMS documentation to meet national and international healthcare standards.
  • Monitor compliance and effectiveness of quality initiatives through data analysis and performance tracking.
Clinical Review:
  • Plan, conduct, and report on internal and external audits related to:
  • Clinical quality improvement
  • Patient safety and risk management
  • Clinical governance
  • Patient experience and satisfaction
  • Healthcare staff credentialing and personnel files
  • Analyze audit findings, identify gaps, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Follow up on action plans to ensure timely implementation and sustained improvement.
Safety culture:
  • Promote a just and transparent safety culture that encourages incident reporting, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and support the identification, investigation, and mitigation of patient and caregiver safety risks.
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), HVA (Hazard Vulnerability Assessment), and other risk assessment tools for new or redesigned services or units.
  • Coordinate event reporting, trend analysis, and policy or process revisions based on safety data and outcomes.
Audit & Reporting:
  • Coordinate and consolidate quality, patient safety, and clinical risk management reports for submission to relevant committees, leadership, and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare dashboards, performance summaries, and analytical reports to support decision‑making.
  • Work and ensure the communication with Saudi Patient Safety Center for Patient safety culture survey , analysis and actions.
  • Manage and oversee preparation for national and international accreditation programs (e.g., CBAHI, JCI,MOH Visits), including:
  • Gap assessments
  • Staff readiness
  • Survey coordination
  • Post‑survey action plans and follow‑up
  • Ensure sustained compliance with accreditation standards and continuous readiness.
Quality training:
  • Ensure healthcare staff actively participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Share actively in Accreditation process either national or international.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver training programs on:
  • Quality assessment and improvement methods
  • Patient safety principles
  • Risk management tools
  • Accreditation standards and requirements
  • Support awareness campaigns and continuous education activities to embed quality and safety principles into daily clinical practice.
Skills
  • Minimum of Six (6) years of management roles experience in Quality ,Risk and Patient Safety, Accreditation (CBAHI, JCIA etc.) in a healthcare organizations
