Job summary

Tawteen is seeking a Librarian for the Learning Resources Center (LRC) to deliver reference services, support OPAC usage, and manage library operations. The role includes cataloging, acquisitions, user instruction, and promoting LRC resources to students and staff.

Applicants should have a LIS degree with library experience; strong Arabic and English communication, ICT skills, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. This is a full-time, on-site position at our Muscat campus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Library and Information Sciences; library experience preferred.
• Moderate level in writing and speaking Arabic and English.
• Good ICT, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Able to manage students’ behavior and work under pressure and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference services to LRC users and guide them to resources.
• Instruct users to use OPAC to locate resources.
• Register new users and issue library cards.
• Operate circulation and reservation systems; manage loans.
• Classify and catalog items; maintain LRC collections.
• Develop LRC collections and progress orders for new items.
