Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced Lead Wet Utilities Engineer in Oman to lead the technical design and delivery of potable water, wastewater, stormwater and irrigation networks. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, authorities and clients to ensure robust, cost-effective solutions across the design lifecycle.

The role requires leadership of engineers and designers, development of masterplans and technical reports, and QA/QC oversight of deliverables to meet project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design and delivery of wet utility networks, including potable water, wastewater/sewerage, stormwater drainage and irrigation systems.
• Take technical ownership of wet utilities packages from concept and preliminary design through detailed design, tender documentation and construction support.
• Lead the development and review of utility masterplans, network layouts, hydraulic models, calculations, technical reports, specifications and drawings.
• Undertake and review hydraulic modelling and network analysis, ensuring systems are appropriately sized, resilient and technically optimised.
• Ensure design complies with applicable Oman authority requirements, international codes and standards, client requirements and project specifications.
• Coordinate closely with roads, highways, structures, landscape, dry utilities and other infrastructure disciplines to ensure fully integrated designs.
• Manage interfaces with existing and proposed infrastructure, including utility crossings, connections, diversions and protection requirements.
• Lead technical reviews and provide QA/QC oversight of wet utilities deliverables.
• Coordinate technical submissions and approvals with clients, stakeholders, utility providers and relevant government authorities.
• Attend and lead technical workshops, multidisciplinary coordination meetings and client meetings as required.
• Identify design risks, constraints and constructability issues and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Drive value engineering and design optimisation while maintaining required performance, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and day-to-day leadership to engineers, designers and BIM/CAD resources.
• Manage discipline deliverables and inputs to ensure alignment with overall project programme and delivery requirements.
• Support tender and construction stages through technical clarifications, RFIs, review of contractor submissions and resolution of design-related issues.

Role Overview

SSH is seeking an experienced Lead Wet Utilities Engineer to lead the technical design and delivery of wet utility infrastructure across major projects in Oman.

The role will be responsible for the design and coordination of potable water, wastewater/sewerage, stormwater drainage, irrigation and associated pumping networks, ensuring solutions are technically robust, coordinated, cost-effective and compliant with applicable Oman authority requirements and international standards.
