Job summary

MENA HR Solutions LLC (IBD Group) in Oman seeks an experienced IT & Digitalization Manager to lead IT/OT, cybersecurity, and Industry 4.0 initiatives in a mining environment. The role focuses on reliability, security, and efficiency of plant IT/OT systems while enabling data-driven decision-making.

You will drive digital transformation, implement Power BI and advanced analytics, manage projects and vendors, and mentor a high-performing IT team across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field; master's preferred.
• Minimum 10 years IT experience with at least 5 in leadership.
• Proven experience in IT infrastructure, ERP, networks, virtualization, firewalls, backups.
• Strong IT/OT integration, industrial automation, and cybersecurity knowledge.
• Experience in mining, minerals processing, or industrial sectors is highly desirable.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced IT & Digitalization Manager to lead IT infrastructure, operational technology (OT), cybersecurity, industrial systems integration, and digital transformation initiatives within a mining and mineral processing environment. The successful candidate will ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT and OT systems while driving digital innovation, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence across plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• IT Strategy & Operations
• Develop and implement IT strategies and digitalization roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee IT operations, system availability, service delivery, and business continuity.
• Manage IT service providers, vendors, technology procurement, and contracts.
• Identify technology improvement opportunities and implement cost-effective solutions.
• Support the integration of IT and OT systems, including SCADA, DCS, PLCs, and process historians.
• IT Infrastructure & Systems Management
• Manage IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, software, databases, and cloud services.
• Oversee virtualization platforms, firewalls, backup solutions, and ERP systems.
• Ensure system reliability through preventive maintenance, upgrades, and performance monitoring.
• Maintain technology inventories, software licenses, system documentation, and service agreements.
• Cybersecurity & Risk Management
• Develop and maintain IT/OT cybersecurity frameworks, policies, and security controls.
• Protect data, networks, industrial control systems, and critical infrastructure against cyber threats.
• Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, audits, and vulnerability reviews.
• Lead cybersecurity incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Ensure regular testing of backup systems and disaster recovery procedures.
• Digital Transformation & Analytics
• Lead digital transformation initiatives and implement Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT, AI, machine learning, digital twins, and smart mining solutions.
• Establish data governance standards and improve enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities.
• Drive the adoption of Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and advanced analytics platforms.
• Identify digital solutions to improve plant throughput, mineral recovery, equipment reliability, and energy efficiency.
• Support predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and data-driven operational decision-making.
• Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Lead, coach, and develop the IT team, including performance management and technical training.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, laboratory, and business support teams.
• Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and relevant external stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into effective technology solutions and communicate technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Governance & Compliance
• Develop and maintain IT policies, standards, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with software licensing, information security requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Manage technology projects, budgets, resources, and implementation timelines.
• Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• A master s degree in a relevant discipline is an added advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant IT experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, ERP systems, networks, virtualization, firewalls, and backup solutions.
• Strong knowledge of IT/OT integration, industrial automation environments, and cybersecurity.
• Demonstrated experience leading IT projects and digital transformation initiatives within budget and timelines.
• Experience in mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, oil and gas, or other industrial environments is highly desirable.
