Job summary

Gender College invites applications for a full-time IT lecturer to coordinate and deliver IT courses at post-secondary and undergraduate levels. You will prepare course outlines, assessments, and assignments while ensuring high-quality teaching and student engagement.

You will mentor teaching assistants, advise students, and participate in departmental activities. A Bachelor's degree in computing science or information technology, and English proficiency (IELTS 6.0+) are required, with 2+ years

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computing science or information technology.
  • IELTS score of 6.0 or above.
  • Language requirement: Proficiency in English is mandatory.
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching IT at the tertiary level.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, administer and teach IT courses per semester.
  • Deliver high quality IT teaching to students at post-secondary and undergraduate level.
  • Prepare course outlines, assessments and assignments.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the course/s that you coordinate at the end of the semester.
  • Identify best and innovative practice in IT education and promote it across the College.
  • Act as academic advisor to students assigned to you.
  • Serve on committees and working groups within the college.
  • Assist in teaching a course supervised by another faculty member.
  • Maintain regular attendance records of students.
  • Mentor and supervise Teaching Assistants and new faculty.
  • Contribute to initiatives which promote best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Ensure professional practice insights are built into the curriculum.
  • Take lead responsibility for a program area, subject or course.
  • Enhance student experience and outcomes.
  • Discharge proctoring duties as assigned.
