Job summary

Emerson seeks an Inventory & Business Analyst to optimize inventory performance and provide analytical support for decision-making. The role emphasizes planning, forecasting, KPI management, reporting, and process improvements to drive efficiency and business results.

You will collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to develop insights, perform variance analysis, and build dashboards using ERP data. A Bachelor's degree and 2–3 years in manufacturing are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience in inventory management, business analysis, operational reporting, or supply chain functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and business reporting tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Planning & Analysis: Maintain optimal inventory levels across materials, WIP, and finished goods while minimizing stockouts and obsolescence.
  • Analyze inventory trends, aging, slow-moving stock, and turnover performance; identify opportunities to improve efficiency and working capital.
  • Support inventory reconciliation activities and inventory performance reviews; develop analysis and recommendations for decisions.
  • Business & Financial Analysis: Support inventory-related financial reporting, valuation, provisions, adjustments, and control activities; perform variance analysis against budget and forecast.
  • Reporting & KPI Management: Prepare and maintain inventory, operational, and business performance reports; develop dashboards and provide leadership with insights.
  • Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Support: Identify opportunities to improve reporting, data quality, automation, and processes; collaborate across Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales, and Customer Service.

Job Summary

The Inventory & Business Analyst is responsible for optimizing inventory performance and providing business and operational analysis to support effective decision-making. This role focuses on inventory planning, forecasting, KPI management, business reporting, and process improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiency and improve business performance.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Inventory Planning & Analysis

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels across raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods while minimizing stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
  • Analyze inventory trends, aging, slow-moving inventory, excess and obsolete (E&O) stock, and inventory turnover performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory efficiency and working capital performance.
  • Support inventory reconciliation activities and inventory performance reviews.

Business & Financial Analysis

  • Support inventory-related financial reporting, inventory valuation, provisions, adjustments, and inventory control activities.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and POR targets to identify performance gaps and business risks.
  • Investigate operational and financial variances and provide meaningful insights to management.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze business and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and improvement areas.
  • Develop analysis and recommendations to support informed business decisions.

Reporting & KPI Management

  • Prepare and maintain inventory, operational, and business performance reports.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including inventory value, inventory turnover (ITO), inventory accuracy, shortages, aging, and E&O inventory.
  • Develop dashboards and management reports using ERP and business data.
  • Provide regular updates and business insights to leadership teams.

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Support

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, data quality, automation, and operational processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory management and business performance.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales, Customer Service, and other functions to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Support business planning, forecasting, and operational review processes.
