Job summary

Siemens Mobility is recruiting for an Installation Supervisor in Oman to lead installation, testing, and commissioning activities for signaling systems on a major cross-border project. You will manage site teams, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires a Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunications and at least 5 years of railway signaling installation experience, with fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily installation, testing, and commissioning activities within the assigned work section; ensure safety, timeliness, and compliance with procedures and project requirements.
• Coordinate technicians, laborers, and subcontractors for effective execution of installation and commissioning activities.
• Plan manpower, materials, tools and equipment to support site operations.
• Assist in preparing installation, testing, and commissioning documentation per project standards.
• Report daily progress, issues, risks, and constraints to the responsible Engineer and Site Manager.
• Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and defect rectification to meet standards.
• Ensure adherence to HSE, quality standards, and approved procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and project records.
• Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders.

What Are My Responsibilities?

• Supervise daily installation, testing, and commissioning activities within the assigned work section, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and in accordance with approved procedures and project requirements.
• Manage and coordinate technicians, laborers, and subcontractors to ensure effective execution of installation and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment required to support continuous and efficient site operations.
• Support the preparation and completion of installation, testing, and commissioning documentation in accordance with project requirements and quality standards.
• Monitor daily progress and report work status, technical issues, risks, and constraints to the responsible Engineer and Installation & Site Manager.
• Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and defect rectification activities to ensure systems meet the required technical and performance standards.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, quality standards, approved installation procedures, and project specifications throughout all site activities.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, installation records, testing documentation, and other relevant project records.
• Coordinate installation and commissioning activities with other disciplines, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure proper interfaces and timely execution.

What Do I Need to Qualify for This Job?

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in railway signalling installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Practical experience with railway signalling equipment and systems, including cable pulling, routing, termination, and testing.
• Experience in the installation and testing of balises, axle counters, and point machines, including adjustment and commissioning activities.
• Experience with indoor signalling equipment, including Interlocking, RBC, Axle Counter cabinets, equipment racks, and power distribution systems.
• Knowledge of railway asset protection systems, including HABD, HWD, RFD, RFID, or similar systems.
• Experience with Control Center/OCC equipment installation and integration activities is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, installation procedures, and testing documentation.
• Strong leadership, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage site teams and subcontractors effectively.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
