Job summary

Tawteen invites a seasoned Commissioning Strategy Manager to lead long-term planning for LDC critical control systems including EMS, SCADA and WAMS in Oman. You will provide strategic oversight of testing and commissioning across upgrades, integrations and new deployments.

You will mentor the commissioning team, set KPIs, coordinate with Engineering and Operations, and represent the company in industry forums to ensure compliance with international standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in large interconnected power system operations in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive long-term commissioning strategy for LDC critical control systems EMS, SCADA and WAMS.
  • Provide direct strategic oversight across all testing and commissioning initiatives related to LDC system upgrades, integrations, and new system deployment.
  • Mentor and develop the commissioning and testing team, setting KPIs to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of all control system activities.
  • Represent OETC in industry forums and with APSR on issues related to commissioning and compliance of control and monitoring systems.
  • Establish and implement a risk management framework for the control system commissioning program including a departmental risk matrix to identify and mitigate potential technical operational and safety-related risks.
  • Develop and enforce internal audit and quality assurance protocols to guarantee adherence to international best practices and regulatory requirements for EMS SCADA WAMS systems.
  • Champion the adoption of new technologies and methodologies such as automated testing and advanced analytics to modernize and future-proof the commissioning process for LDC systems.
  • Create and maintain a knowledge base for all commissioning and testing data ensuring valuable insights are captured and shared for future control system projects.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team building deep in-house expertise in modern control system technology.
