Job summary

gu-recruitment seeks a Head Office Mechanical Design Authority to oversee design reviews, method approvals and technical governance across wind, solar PV and BESS projects. You will act as the primary technical reference for mechanical scopes, including turbine erection, mounting structures, and thermal management, coordinating with civil, electrical and controls teams.

The role demands extensive renewables experience and Owner's Engineer delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10-15 years of mechanical engineering experience in renewable energy or heavy industrial projects.
• 7+ years on utility-scale renewables with wind turbine installation.
• Experience as Owner's Engineer or mechanical authority on wind/solar/BESS projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as mechanical design authority for wind, solar PV and BESS scopes across the portfolio.
• Define and enforce mechanical design standards, installation philosophies and QA benchmarks.
• Review OEM designs, installation procedures, specs and submittals for compliance.
• Coordinate multi-discipline interfaces (civil, electrical, controls) and lead risk reviews.
• Review pre-commissioning records and handover documentation to commissioning.
