Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Engineer to execute installation, testing, and commissioning activities at customer sites or Hitachi Energy projects related to HV products, including third party HV products as authorized.

Responsibilities include on-site installation, testing of GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB and other equipment, coordinating with tools management, and providing reports and plans to project management while ensuring compliance with safety and integrity standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience with high voltage products and related equipment.
• Experience in HV switchgear protection and control is required.
• Proficiency in English and Arabic is required.

Working as Field Service Engineer to execute the installation testing and commissioning activities at customer site or Hitachi Energy projects related to the HV products, including third party HV products if applicable and authorized by Hitachi Energy management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Active participation in site activities and visiting the customer site for Installation testing and commissioning of Hitachi HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB and other equipment as and when required or assigned by the line manager.
• Coordinate/interface with tools management department and take care of HV tools, arrange and properly use Hitachi Energy HV test equipment and tools to execute site activities for HV Products installation, testing and commissioning, protection and control.
• Complete GIS installation and GIS compartment assembly work, minor fabrications if required, trouble shooting and rectification of HV products defect workable at customer site and advise the action plan if the repair work need to be carried out in Hitachi Energy factory or workshop.
• Supports the work activities of PGHV Service at site, or at customer workplace.
• Learn and perform the test equipment operation used for HV product testing and maintenance work at site, customer premises or Hitachi Energy workplace.
• Work with Project Management team on various project as and when required with full compliance of PM requirement and maintain discipline advise by the PM or customer site regulations.
• Lead the contractor or sub-contractor during job execution and coordinate with customer and back-office support for any resources requirements to complete the job.
• Get the PAC or time sheets signed by the customer after completion of assigned task that can be used to invoice the customer.
• Prepare and provide site reports, activity plans and resource requirements and share them with the PM, line manager or supervisor.
• Follow the company rules and regulations, display good behavior at office and at site, any safety or integrity incident should be reported to line manager, supervisor or project Manager.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly time sheet, expanse report as per company guideline in timely manner, prepare travel authorization prior to start the travelling for site or deployment.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Experience Required:

• Previous experience of 3-5 years in high voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgears, HV switchgear protection and control, monitoring and measuring devices, industries or utilities companies.

Education Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
