Job summary

Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah, part of InterContinental Hotels Group, seeks a Duty Engineer to maintain electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems, ensuring safety, sustainability and cost-effective maintenance to support guest services.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to emergencies, inspect guest rooms and public areas, troubleshoot faults, monitor plant equipment, and coordinate with other departments to deliver exceptional hospitality.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC or related engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance; GCC experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain hotel engineering systems efficiently.
• Good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Service-oriented with ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and other building systems.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and operational emergencies.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities to meet brand standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment faults and carry out repairs to minimize downtime.
• Monitor plant and engineering equipment, reporting defects or major maintenance needs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire and environmental regulations and hotel policies.
• Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives by promoting efficient use of utilities.
• Maintain engineering tools, equipment and maintenance records accurately.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to support daily operations and guest service.
