Design Engineer (PEB)

Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer with 3–8 years of experience to lead structural analysis and design for PEB projects in Oman. You will prepare calculations, check load combinations, and ensure safety and serviceability while optimizing material use.

You will collaborate with Sales, Estimation, Detailing, Production, Procurement, and Site teams to deliver compliant drawings and resolve technical queries. Strong software skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering.
• 3 to 8 years of relevant structural engineering experience, preferably in PEB/steel structures.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel and PEB design principles.
• Good understanding of structural analysis and design.
• Proficiency in software such as STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structures / MBS, AutoCAD, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, architectural drawings, design criteria, and client requirements.
• Prepare structural analysis and design for PEB.
• Prepare structural design calculations and ensure proper load combinations.
• Develop economical designs while maintaining structural safety and serviceability.
• Prepare and review design drawings, GA drawings, fabrication/shop drawings, and erection drawings as required.
• Coordinate with Sales, estimation, detailing, production, procurement, and site teams.
• Respond to technical queries from clients, consultants, fabrication, and erection teams.
• Review design changes and incorporate approved revisions.
• Identify design clashes and constructability issues before fabrication.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and project specifications, or other specified codes.
• Assist in resolving technical issues during fabrication and erection.
• Maintain proper documentation of calculations, drawings, revisions, and design approvals.
• Support the Design Manager in improving design methods, standardization, and material optimization.
• Follow company QA/QC procedures and engineering standards.
