Job summary

GBM Oman seeks a Data Center Operator to monitor and maintain the bank’s data center infrastructure. You will ensure services meet SLAs through IT and application monitoring, batch job operations, backups, and issue coordination with IT teams.

Responsibilities include shift work, uptime optimization, capacity planning, and incident handling, with a focus on data integrity and service availability across the data center environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Computer Science or related field.
• ITIL Foundation preferred; Microsoft/MCP/MCSE and networking certs preferred.
• Experience with monitoring and backup tools in a data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Shift-based work in a data center environment.
• Oversee data center systems and log/report issues.
• Coordinate with IT teams to maximize uptime and service quality.
• Monitor workloads and capacity for planning future needs.
• Perform batch job setup, scheduling and status reporting.
• Maintain backups and run recovery procedures per standards.
• Ensure security policy compliance and incident resolution processes.
