Job summary

Converra Consulting in Muscat, Oman, seeks an experienced Contract Manager for a multi-year maintenance project. You will own contractual compliance, manage performance metrics and lead the PMC team's subcontract function.

Qualifications

Job description

We are scaling up a maintenance project in Oman and have an opportunity for a Contract Manager to join the team at this stage.

This role owns contractual compliance and performance tracking for the engagement, and leads the PMC team's subcontracts function.

Reporting Line

This role reports to the Technical Services Manager and works closely with the main contractor's contracts and subcontracts staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the milestone and obligations register, recording each contractual obligation with its owner, due date, status and supporting evidence.
• Monitor compliance and give early warning of slippage or risk, with recovery options, to the main contractor's Project Director.
• Track KPI exposure and prepare the KPI position for monthly management meetings.
• Maintain the contract correspondence and notices log, and flag notice and time bar requirements as they arise.
• Lead the Subcontract Manager and Assistant Subcontract Manager, and act as the team's primary point of contact on contractual matters.

Candidate Requirements

• Candidates must have a proven background managing, executing or governing long-term maintenance contracts, brownfield projects or service agreements.
• Candidates must have direct, hands‑on experience on major national oil company assets in Oman, with strong familiarity with operator HSE procedures and technical specifications.
• Candidates must have demonstrated operational and technical expertise on oil and gas maintenance projects, across upstream, midstream or downstream facilities.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in contract or commercial management on oil and gas integrated services, maintenance or EPC contracts, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Subcontract administration experience is required.
• Engineering, quantity surveying or a related degree.

Location, Engagement

Muscat, Oman. This is a full-time, project-based position. The engagement runs through an initial mobilisation phase followed by the main execution phase of a multi-year contract.
