Job summary

Eni Oman B.V. in Muscat is seeking a Contract Engineer to manage procurement and contracting activities for works, materials and services. You will develop contract strategy, lead tendering, conduct commercial evaluations and negotiations, and ensure compliant, cost-effective outcomes.

The role requires extensive oil & gas contracting experience, excellent English, and strong knowledge of procurement processes and governance. You will work with internal stakeholders to drive best practices.

Qualifications

  • Extensive oil and gas contracting experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, SAP MM and SRM.
  • Experience with complex contracts and governance.
  • CIPS qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement contract and procurement strategies for goods, works and services.
  • Prepare and manage tender processes, including tender documentation and bidder evaluations.
  • Conduct commercial and contractual evaluations, negotiations and recommendations.
  • Draft and review contract documentation for compliance.
  • Identify procurement opportunities and propose cost-effective solutions.
  • Perform market analysis and supplier assessments to support sourcing.
  • Manage full contract lifecycle with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in contracting practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Code of Ethics and governance requirements.

At Eni, we are looking for a Contract Engineer to join Eni Oman B.V. i in Muscat. You will be responsible for managing procurement and contracting activities for works, materials and services, including contract strategy development, tendering, commercial evaluations, contract negotiations and award processes, ensuring compliance with company procedures and delivery of cost-effective, high-quality outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement contract and procurement strategies for goods, works and services.
  • Prepare and manage tender processes, including tender documentation, bidder evaluations and contract awards.
  • Conduct commercial and contractual evaluations, negotiations and recommendation processes.
  • Draft and review contract documentation, ensuring compliance with company requirements, policies and applicable legislation.
  • Identify procurement opportunities, challenge business requirements and propose cost-effective solutions.
  • Perform market analysis and supplier assessments to support sourcing decisions.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle in coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate procurement and contract records and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in contracting and procurement practices.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company's Code of Ethics, procurement procedures and governance requirements.
Skills and Experience Required
Qualifications and Experience
  • Extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, including relevant experience in contracting and procurement.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Experience with SAP MM and SRM modules is an advantage.
  • Experience working on complex projects, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong understanding of international contracts and project governance.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • CIPS qualification is desirable.
