Job summary

gu-recruitment is seeking a Construction Manager for the Wind Turbine Manufacturing Factory project in Duqm, Oman. Responsibilities

• Act as the Client's on-site civil engineering representative.
• Review and comment on civil designs, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
• Monitor civil works by the General Contractor for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with the Controller / PMC company to align inspections and technical assessments.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, IFC drawings and standards.
• Oversee foundations, earthworks, concrete works, steel structures, roads, and buildings.
• Witness inspections and quality checks from a Client perspective.
• Identify technical risks and report deviations to the Client.
• Support the Client in resolving civil technical issues.
• Review as-built drawings, test results and handover documentation.
• Participate in technical and coordination meetings with Client, Controller and GC.
• Promote and monitor site HSE compliance.

Job Purpose

The Construction Manager will work directly for the Client on the Wind Turbine Manufacturing Factory project in Duqm. The role focuses on client-side technical oversight and coordination of civil works executed by the General Contractor, parallel with an independent Controller / PMC company appointed by the Client.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Client's on-site civil engineering representative.
• Review and comment on civil designs, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
• Monitor civil works executed by the General Contractor for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with the Controller / PMC company to align inspections, findings, and technical assessments.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, IFC drawings, and applicable standards.
• Oversee and review civil works including earthworks, grading, and site preparation.
• Foundations (including heavy equipment and wind turbine manufacturing machinery foundations).
• Concrete works (structural and non-structural).
• Steel structures (civil interface).
• Roads, pavements, and drainage systems.
• Buildings and industrial facilities.
• Witness inspections, testing, and quality checks from a Client perspective.
• Identify technical risks, quality issues, and deviations and report them to the Client.
• Support the Client in resolving civil technical issues.
• Review as-built drawings, test results, and handover documentation.
• Participating in technical and coordination meetings with the Client, Controller company, and General Contractor.
• Promote and monitor compliance with site HSE requirements.

Requirements

Industrial building experience (factory construction/ warehouse/ plant etc) is a must.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in industrial or infrastructure project.
• Experience working in a client-side or Consultant role.
• Strong background in overseeing General Contractor civil works.
• Experience coordinating with PMC / Controller companies.
• Prior experience in Oman or GCC countries is an advantage.
