Job summary

STRABAG in Oman is seeking a finance/commercial professional to manage the commercial and administrative aspects of large-scale dam and water infrastructure projects. You will control costs, manage subcontractors and procurement, and ensure accurate financial reporting in line with CPS and contractual obligations.

You will coordinate audits, handle monthly closes, monitor accruals, and liaise with stakeholders and the employer to support project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in finance/commercial roles in construction.
• Strong understanding of project cost control and contract management.
• Experience with financial reporting and cash flow management.

Job description

Tasks

The commercial and administrative management of projects and service units, responsible for covering cost control, subcontractor management, financial reporting, auditing, and stakeholder liaison in line with company procedures (CPS) and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial and administrative aspects of medium to large-scale dam construction, earthworks, and water infrastructure projects.


• Controlling aspects such as setting up commercial projects and administration team. Including interviewing, selection, building teamwork spirit, providing the required training, knowledge, company regulation and procedure as per the CPS, stipulating the tools and equipment to achieve their assignment,


• Commercial cost controlling for materials, procurement, Quality management, filing system and archiving, LEAN Construction, insurances “CAR, Telemedical Equipment claims, and variation orders supports.


• Monthly commercial closing, checking cost booked, accruals, stock, Performance, outstanding Receivable and payment.


• Handling the subcontractors’ commercial issues, agreement, invoice, certificate, deductions, final account, alerting commercial risks and opportunities to the project teams and management.


• Representing the company and participating in meetings and events.


• Managing connection and liaison with the Employer and stakeholders.


• Managing project’s Auditing process with external and internal auditing, cooperating and providing the required data to internal revision auditors.


• Commercial forecast and follow up to achieve the targets.


• Communicating with and by BRVZ / Finance controllers for queries, providing details and clarifications,customizing the commercial procedure to suit the project requirement based on size, period, contact value, etc.


• Ensuring that the contractual terms & conditions are applied without violation. Monitor business complaints strictly, control the personnel and admis tasks including working times, overtime according to the global and local regulations, improving the digitization wherever is possible, handling the problem related to the project raised by the local citizens.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.


• 5+ years of experience in finance/commercial roles in construction.


• Good understanding of project cost control and contract management.


• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and cash flow management.


• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., MS365, AS4U) is preferred.


• Professional certifications such as Association of Chartered Certified Accountants or CPA are an advantage.
