Job summary

Oman Investment Authority seeks a Production Assistant Manager to support the Production Manager in manufacturing operations for a large automotive assembly facility in Duqm. You will drive manpower planning, line efficiency, and adherence to safety, quality, and delivery targets.

This role requires 10+ years in automotive production, hands-on welding, painting, chassis and body assembly, and a Lean Six Sigma background.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing automotive production.
Strong hands-on experience in Welding and fabrication, Painting, Chassis assembly, Bus/truck body assembly, Final assembly, Vehicle testing and inspection.
Lean Six Sigma certification (ASQ or IASSC) preferred; ISO 9001 Internal audit certification is mandatory.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, process documents, work instructions and production layouts.
Experience in managing production performance through measurable KPIs.

Responsibilities

General and Task Management: Support the Production Manager in planning, organizing and controlling daily production activities.
Manpower Management: Directly manage and coordinate a production workforce of minimum 200 operators; plan allocation and deployment.
Production Efficiency & Continuous Improvement: Monitor and improve labor productivity, line efficiency, cycle time and overall production performance; drive Lean and Kaizen initiatives.
Quality Testing & Delivery: Provide production expertise, troubleshoot issues, ensure output meets quality standards, coordinate with Quality and PDI teams.
