Position Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) invites applications for a full‑time faculty position in Robotics and Intelligent Systems. The successful candidate will teach robotics‑related courses, conduct scholarly and applied research, support student learning and contribute to quality assurance, accreditation, innovation and industry engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in robotics, automation, artificial intelligence and related fields in face‑to‑face, online and blended modes.
- Develop course syllabi, laboratory manuals, digital content, project‑based learning activities, assessment tools, rubrics and course files aligned with learning outcomes.
- Integrate modern robotics platforms, simulation tools, AI technologies and industry applications into teaching and laboratory activities.
- Establish and maintain robotics laboratories and support hands‑on learning experiences.
- Conduct research and publish in peer‑reviewed journals; contribute to funded research projects, consultancy, patents and innovation initiatives.
- Supervise student projects, capstones, internships, competitions and research activities.
- Participate in curriculum review, program assessment, accreditation activities, moderation and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes.
- Foster collaboration with industry partners, professional organizations and community stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Research expertise in Autonomous Systems, AI Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Intelligent Control Systems, Human‑Robot Interaction, Industry4.0, Smart Manufacturing, Digital Twins or related areas.
- Experience with robotics competitions, innovation projects, startup incubation or technology commercialization.
- Professional certifications in robotics, automation, AI, IoT, cloud technologies or industrial control systems.
- Experience with curriculum development, outcome‑based education and accreditation requirements.
- Active contribution to quality assurance, assessment and continuous improvement of the program and department.
Required Qualifications
- Assistant Professor: PhD in Robotics, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Automation Engineering from a recognized university.
- Lecturer: Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics or Automation from a recognized university (Omani preferred).
- Evidence of effective teaching at the university level.
- Ability to teach robotics theory and laboratory courses.
- Experience with robotics platforms such as Arduino, RaspberryPi, ROS, PLCs, robotic arms, drones, autonomous vehicles or similar systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, MATLAB or related technologies.
- Experience in online and hybrid teaching using educational technologies.
- Strong communication, teamwork and student mentoring skills.
