Job summary

Tawteen in Oman invites applications for a faculty position requiring a PhD and teaching experience at undergraduate level. You will conduct quality research, publish results, and engage students and junior staff in scholarly activities while contributing to service at college and university levels.

Responsibilities include delivering up to 20 hours of face-to-face teaching weekly, developing materials, maintaining office hours, advising students, and participating in curriculum development,

Qualifications

• PhD in the corresponding specialized area.
• At least two-year undergraduate teaching experience.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written) and computer literacy.
• Active research with publication history.
• Administrative/leadership/industry experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Carry out quality research and publish its results in quality peer-reviewed conference proceedings journals and books.
• Present results of conducted research to colleagues during in-college seminars.
• Search and apply for research grants individually or as a group.
• Engage students and junior teaching staff members in research-related activities.
• Timely provide information about performed research as requested by the Dean or the Chair of a corresponding committee.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and serve on university/college committees as assigned (secretary or chair roles).
• Organize events, workshops, conferences, symposia and similar activities, and build external relations.
• Prepare reporting documentation in full and timely manner as specified by the requesting party.
• Deliver a maximum of 20 hours of face-to-face instruction per week.
• Develop and maintain teaching materials related to assigned courses.
• Provide examination papers and related documents for moderation and post-moderation of exams.
• Maintain 15 office hours per week for student meetings, research, or administrative duties.
• Prepare a course file for all assigned courses each semester.
• Provide academic advising to assigned students.
• Participate in curriculum development as requested.
• Other teaching responsibilities as assigned by the Dean or delegated official.

Teaching amp Learning responsibilities

Qualifications and competencies
