Responsibilities include GL reconciliation, AP/AR, payroll, VAT, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The role involves cross‑functional collaboration to optimize processes and provide timely insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in trading or commercial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Omani VAT, tax, and compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent Excel and financial reporting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee VAT and tax compliance in line with Omani regulations.

  • Oversee AR, AP, stock ageing, and collections with timely follow-ups.
  • Coordinate with AR team for timely collections and payments.
  • Evaluate pricing and costing to support business decisions.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. As part of our team in Muscat, Oman, you'll work in an ONSITE environment, managing the core financial operations of our trading business and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Handle day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee VAT and tax compliance in accordance with Omani laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate smooth financial processes across the organization.
  • Assist with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Prepare regular financial and management reports, along with detailed financial analysis.
  • Control AR, AP, and stock ageing, ensuring up-to-date records and analysis.
  • Follow up with customers and suppliers for timely collections and payments.
  • Oversee bank and petty cash book reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with the AR team for timely follow-ups and collections.
  • Evaluate pricing and costing to support business decisions.
Must have requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in a trading or commercial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Omani VAT, tax, and compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem‑solving ability.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Nice to have requirements
  • Professional accounting qualifications
  • Experience in trading, distribution, or FMCG sectors.
  • Knowledge of Arabic language.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and costing systems.
  • Experience of Oracle NetSuite is an advantage
