The Youth Worker will proactively engage with rangatahi, building positive and effective relationships and connecting young people to Zeal Hamilton’s programmes, services and opportunities. The role will support and facilitate youth-led activities, events and programmes, encourage meaningful participation, and contribute to creating a safe, welcoming and empowering environment for young people.
Proactively engage with young people and build positive and effective relationships in line with strengths-based youth development practice.
Connect rangatahi with Zeal Hamilton programmes, services and wider community opportunities.
Develop, organise and facilitate youth activities and events as directed by the Manager.
Support youth-led initiatives and encourage young people to take an active role in shaping their community.
Build strong relationships with schools, community organisations, partners and other youth-focused services.
Work collaboratively with Zeal Hamilton staff and contribute to the wider strategic direction of Zeal.
Support programme delivery and meet relevant contractual and funding requirements.
Complete required administration, reporting, attendance records and file management.
Follow all health and safety procedures and promptly report hazards, risks or concerns to the Manager.
Contribute to a positive team culture and shared learning across Zeal Hamilton and the wider Zeal network.
Assist the Manager with other reasonable duties and responsibilities as required.

Holds afull New Zealand driver licence
