Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children in Waitākere invites applications for a Youth Justice Coordinator. You will manage Family Group Conferences, work with tamariki and rangatahi, whānau and the wider community to address why offences occurred and ensure accountability with victims, police and the Youth Court.

The role requires strong facilitation, frontline delivery experience, and knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific cultures.

Qualifications

• Dynamic, agile frontline coordinator with experience in youth services.
• Ability to build strong strategic relationships with tamariki, rangatahi, whānau and professionals.
• Knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific cultures in practice.
• Understanding of FGC standards and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Family Group Conferences in line with the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989.
• Collaborate with victims, police and Youth Court to uphold accountability and care.
• Engage with tamariki, rangatahi, whānau and the wider community to address underlying causes.
