Job summary

Oranga Tamariki, Ministry for Children, Christchurch-based Supervisor Social Worker (Youth Justice) leads a team of social workers and support staff to ensure high-quality Youth Justice services. You will provide leadership, oversight and professional supervision while aligning with legislation and policy, and foster strong partnerships with iwi and community providers.

Strong relationship management, cultural capability, and a commitment to tamariki wellbeing are essential.

Qualifications

• Full NZ driver's licence
• SWRB registration with Annual Practising Certificate
• Recognised tertiary qualification in social work
• Proven leadership and performance management experience
• Strong understanding of risk management and continuous improvement
• Cross-cultural practice knowledge, Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team to deliver Youth Justice services
