Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children in New Zealand seeks an Employment Coordinator to coordinate access to employment and related programmes for young people in residence at Korowai Manaaki Youth Justice Residence, Wiri. You will identify opportunities and match them to individual plans to maximise education and employment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge and experience in providing a comprehensive range of employment products and services.
• Proven successful experience in working with service providers and other key stakeholders at a community level.
• The ability to communicate complex ideas to a variety of audiences and build and maintain rapport with others.
• The ability to focus on operational service delivery and development issues.
• Commitment towards positive outcomes for children, young people and their families.
• A clean, current driver's license is essential and a willingness to drive the Ministry's vehicles.
• The ability to anticipate and resolves problems making decisions based on sound risk management analysis.
• Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
