Job summary

Tš Māia Regional Youth Forensics Service in Greenlane (Auckland) is seeking a qualified clinician to provide specialist psychiatric services for young people under youth court care. The role includes comprehensive assessments and ongoing care for neurodevelopmental and severe mental health conditions, with court-ordered reports as needed.

This permanent, full-time position operates Monday–Friday within a multidisciplinary team, working with families, schools and community services to support

Qualifications

• Hold a registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• Experience with Child Services and Neurodevelopment pathways.
• Experience and interest in community care for clients (child and adolescents) with developmental disorders.
• Patient centred approach to delivery of care.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychiatric services for young people under the care of Tš Māia, including comprehensive assessments formally ordered through youth court legislation and ongoing care and treatment.
• Offer specialist opinions for court-ordered reports or assessments as needed.
• Contribute to the sub team Taiohi Tu TaiohiOra delivering services to Oranga Tamariki youth justice residences.
