Qualifications

• Experience teaching Mathematics to Years 9–11.

Tongariro School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Mathematics teacher to join our kura, teaching across Years 9–11, from the beginning of 2027.

We are a unique Years 1 to 13 area school where relationships matter, rangatahi are known and valued, and teachers have the opportunity to make a real difference.

We’re looking for an experienced teacher who can make mathematics engaging, relevant and accessible for a diverse range of learners. You’ll bring strong curriculum and pedagogical knowledge, effective classroom practice, high expectations and a proven ability to support rangatahi to achieve.

Sound experience and understanding of NCEA, current mathematics and numeracy requirements, and assessment practice is essential, along with a willingness to work collaboratively as part of our secondary team.
