Job summary

Sanford is seeking a hands-on operator to support our mussel farming operations in Havelock. You will work across yard, production, machinery and equipment activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

Key traits include reliability, a positive attitude, good teamwork and a willingness to learn. Prior experience in production, aquaculture or marine environments is preferred but not essential.

• Must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
• Pre-employment checks may include a criminal history check, drug and alcohol testing and a medical assessment.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery, tools and equipment safely.
• Complete rope, tubing, float and stocking production.
• Complete production and stock documentation.
• Prepare and deliver vessel orders.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Report faults, breakdowns and hazards.
• Support and assist other team members when required.
• Assist with other mussel farming activities as needed.

About the role

You’ll support our mussel farming operations through a range of yard, production, machinery and equipment activities, helping ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.

Location: Havelock
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 4:00pm

What you’ll be doing

• Operate machinery, tools and equipment safely.

• Complete production and stock documentation.
• Prepare and deliver vessel orders.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Report faults, breakdowns and hazards.
• Support and assist other team members when required.
