Job summary

New Zealand King Salmon – Blenheim, South Island, is seeking a hands-on Net Cleaning Deckhand to join our vessel fleet and support the health and performance of our salmon farms. Reporting to the Net Cleaning Team Leader, you will operate the ROV net cleaner and assist with a range of general farm tasks.

This role offers a 7 days on, 7 days off roster with the option to stay in onsite company accommodation.

New Zealand King Salmon – Blenheim, South Island

An exciting opportunity has become available for someone to join our Net Cleaning team.

Reporting to the Net Cleaning Team Leader, you will undertake deckhand duties across our vessel fleet, operate our specialised ROV net cleaner, and assist with a range of general farm tasks. This is a hands‑on role that plays an important part in maintaining the health and performance of our salmon farms.

Our Net Cleaning operation is a key part of our Seawater Services team, so we're looking for someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work, and contributes positively to a supportive team environment. This position operates on 7 days on, 7 days off roster, providing an excellent work-life balance. During your working week, you also have the option to stay in our onsite company accommodation.

The Successful Candidate Will Be:

Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in a marine environment throughout the year.

A strong communicator who works well with others and enjoys being part of a close‑knit team.

Comfortable working a 7/7 roster.

Well organised, with strong planning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain focused while operating the ROV net cleaner.

Existing dive qualifications are not required but would be advantageous, with development opportunities available for the right candidate.

Marine crane (Hiab) qualification and Aquaculture experience would be an advantage; however full training will be provided.

Candidates with a SRL with 24m Endorsement or ring‑fenced equivalent will be given preference. However, this role is also a great opportunity to gain valuable sea time towards an SRL / Skipper's Ticket, with further development opportunities available for the right person.
