Job summary

Fletcher Building Limited's PlaceMakers Oamaru is seeking a proactive yard and drive-thru assistant to deliver friendly, efficient service to customers. You’ll assist with loading, transactions, and product knowledge while maintaining safety and the tidy yard environment.

You will work 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, in a supportive team. A valid forklift licence is preferred; training and development opportunities are available within the Fletcher Building Group.

Qualifications

• Full clean class 1 driver licence and forklift licence preferred but not essential.
• Physically fit and safety-conscious with solid health and safety values.
• Great attention to detail and being organised.
• Computer and numeracy knowledge.
• Team player who enjoys dealing with people.
• Punctual, reliable and keen to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in the timber yard and Drive Thru department.
• Load goods onto customer vehicles.
• Process customer orders and transactions.
• Monitor inventory and perform cycle counts.

Job description

Join our vital front-line team at PlaceMakers Oamaru, you’ll be responsible for delivering excellent service to our customers when they come through our yard and drive thru/pick up area. Your energetic, outgoing nature and eye for detail will help you to ensure that our customers are receiving prompt, efficient service and sound advice while keeping safety at the forefront.

Daily you will be responsible for –

• Assisting our customers within our timber yard & Drive Thru department
• Loading of goods on to customer vehicles
• Processing customer orders and transactions
• Monitoring inventory, cycle counts
• Operating a Forklift
• Picking and loading orders accurately and efficiently
• Learning a wide range of building products
• Working as part of a tight knit, supportive team
• Keeping the yard safe, tidy, and running smoothly

This is a permanent full-time role, offering 40 hours a week. Working Monday -Friday 8am -5pm.

About you:

You will play a lead role in ensuring our loyal customers are giving the upmost care and service. You will need to be a people person and someone who thrives in building rapport customers.

• Full clean class 1 driver licence and Forklift licence/Experience is preferred, however not essential
