Job summary

PlaceMakers is seeking a front-line Customer Service role at our Oamaru yard in Otago. You will assist customers in the timber yard and Drive Thru, load goods, process orders, and help keep the yard safe and efficient. A friendly, can-do attitude and attention to detail are essential.

We value a reliable, punctual team player with numeracy and computer skills, willing to learn and grow within the Fletcher Building Group. Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, permanent full-time.

Description

Join our vital front-line team at PlaceMakers Oamaru, you’ll be responsible for delivering excellent service to our customers when they come through our yard and drive thru/pick up area. Your energetic, outgoing nature and eye for detail will help you to ensure that our customers are receiving prompt, efficient service and sound advice while keeping safety at the forefront.

The Role:

Daily you will be responsible for –

• Assisting our customers within our timber yard & Drive Thru department
• Loading of goods on to customer vehicles
• Processing customer orders and transactions
• Monitoring inventory, cycle counts
• Operating a Forklift
• Picking and loading orders accurately and efficiently
• Learning a wide range of building products
• Working as part of a tight knit, supportive team
• Keeping the yard safe, tidy, and running smoothly

This is a permanent full-time role, offering 40 hours a week. Working Monday -Friday 8am -5pm.

About You

You will play a lead role in ensuring our loyal customers are giving the upmost care and service. You will need to be a people person and someone who thrives in building rapport customers.

• Full clean class 1 driver licence and Forklift licence/Experience is preferred, however not essential
• Physically fit and a solid health and safety values
• Great attention to detail and be organised
• Computer and numeracy knowledge
• Someone who enjoys dealing with people and working as part of a team
• Ability to have a laugh and enjoy the day while still getting the job done
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
