Job summary

PlaceMakers New Lynn is seeking a Yard & Drive Thru Team Member to support our yard and drive-thru areas, delivering tailored product advice and loading vehicles. You will help create a standout customer experience for tradies and builders, while loading, stocking and coordinating deliveries.

The role is a permanent full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at PlaceMakers New Lynn. A strong safety mindset and forklift competency are essential, with NZ driver’s licence and

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse, timber yard, or building supplies environment.
• Safety-focused and physically fit.
• Forklift experience with F endorsement desirable.
• Full NZ Class 1 driver’s licence essential.
• Knowledge of building products advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist and recommend products that suit customers' needs and preferences.
• Pick, assemble, and process orders and transactions.
• Load and unload customer vehicles, delivery vans, and supplier trucks.
• Support dispatch and coordinate daily deliveries.
• Monitor inventory levels and stock replenishment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard; general housekeeping.
• Operate a forklift.

Job description

As a Yard & Drive Thru Team Member at PlaceMakers New Lynn you’ll be the trusted expert our building trade customers rely on. Working across our yard and drive-thru areas, you’ll provide hands-on support and assistance, deliver tailored product advice, load vehicles and help to create a customer experience that keeps them coming back.

• Assist & recommend products that suit the needs and preferences of every customer

• Monitor inventory levels, complete cycle counts and stock replenishment
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard through general housekeeping
• Operate a Forklift

Permanent full-time role at PlaceMakers New Lynn branch offering 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

About You:

To succeed in this role, you'll ideally have proven experience working in a timber yard or building supplies environment. You'll be safety-focused, physically fit, and confident operating a forklift in a busy yard setting. Most importantly, you'll be a reliable team player who enjoys helping customers and supporting tradies to get what they need.

• Previous experience working in a warehouse, timber yard, or similar trade-based environment.
• Strong work ethic and an approachable, down-to-earth attitude
• Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and manual handling
• Full NZ Class 1 drivers’ licence is essential
• Forklift experience with F endorsement is desirable
• Knowledge of building products or the construction industry is advantageous
